Its getting pretty cold out...
I know it is freezing out, but that does not mean that it is time to put the bike away til spring. We are offering 10% off of all winter riding gear through the end of the year. It is amazing all of the stuff they have now. I will admit that I used to make fun of the BMW riders with their heated grips, but I must be getting old or soft or maybe both, because being comfy and still riding is starting to mean more to me. We can now get most any riding gear in an electric heated form. From heated kidney belts, vests and jackets, to heated gloves and shoe insoles. We can also get you great pricing on 3/4 or full face helmets, so come on in, gear up, and ride this winter!

One good thing about the holiday season...
Since we moved to the new location, all of our deliveries have been in the afternoon. At the old shop we always received everything by 11am, so getting everything at 3pm threw everything off since we have to have our orders in by 2pm and most of the time needed parts from one delivery to make sure of what all is needed on the next order. Anyway, UPS has been here before 11 for the past few days, and the driver said it should be that way through the holiday season. At times like these, it is the little things that count.

Getting in to some bigger projects for the winter
As many folks start to ride less and less as the weather changes, we do less and less service work. The winter is a great time to get some builds in. We are fortunate to have three bikes going on right now. One is a "75 Shovel in a wishbone frame. The bike had been together before, but it never was really finished. This bike will be wrapped up some time next week.
We already talked bout Sand Bastard, so we will post more on that one later.
The third bike is also a 1975, but it is a factory frame that has been modified with some stretch in it. This bike was pretty much built by the owner and will not be considered a "Jailhouse" bike. We have to do all the wiring and plumbing and final assembly for this one. While it is not a full build, it is going to be a fun project to see completed since it has a 117ci Evo that should put a smile on my face on that first time start up.
We will keep posting as things progress.

We Got Scooters!!!
That's right, we have scooters. I know that they are not so chopper, but ya got to do what ya gotta do. These are new United Motors (Korean not Chinese junk) 150cc and 170cc scooters. they do 60+mph and get around 90mpg. $1000 gets you one of these and that price is good for the rest of the year with in house financing available. Come on down and buy these so we can build some bikes!

Saw that band wagon and jumped on...
Well looks like I have a blog now. It just seemed the thing to do. I mean, if Dave has a damn blog then everyone should. Well I guess I will start posting the day to day happenings from the shop, so here goes....
Trying to keep on keepin on in a cold crap economy, and having fun doing it. We are building a bike to debut at the World of Wheels show in January called "Sand Bastard". It is a pretty basic bike with an Ultima frame, DNA springer front end, Paughco tank and lots of flake and candy. The paint has been done by Simms City Hot Rods in Atlanta, while the gold leaf and striping was done by Dave right down the street from us at Good Clean Fun Tattoo. You can check out more on Dave at his blog, davesdamnblog.blogspot.com or go by his tattoo shop just up the street from us. The bike should turn out to be pretty cool despite being just a basic bike, unlike most of what Jailhouse is known for.
The reason I have decided to start building some basic bare bones bikes but with flashy paint is because the economy sucks and we can produce these at a fair price. It is hard to have 100 hours in a custom frontend and sell a bike for $15,000, but with the bikes we are doing now $12,000 and less is possible. Come on by the shop and take a look for your self.
