Saw that band wagon and jumped on...

Well looks like I have a blog now. It just seemed the thing to do. I mean, if Dave has a damn blog then everyone should. Well I guess I will start posting the day to day happenings from the shop, so here goes....

Trying to keep on keepin on in a cold crap economy, and having fun doing it. We are building a bike to debut at the World of Wheels show in January called "Sand Bastard". It is a pretty basic bike with an Ultima frame, DNA springer front end, Paughco tank and lots of flake and candy. The paint has been done by Simms City Hot Rods in Atlanta, while the gold leaf and striping was done by Dave right down the street from us at Good Clean Fun Tattoo. You can check out more on Dave at his blog, davesdamnblog.blogspot.com or go by his tattoo shop just up the street from us. The bike should turn out to be pretty cool despite being just a basic bike, unlike most of what Jailhouse is known for.
The reason I have decided to start building some basic bare bones bikes but with flashy paint is because the economy sucks and we can produce these at a fair price. It is hard to have 100 hours in a custom frontend and sell a bike for $15,000, but with the bikes we are doing now $12,000 and less is possible. Come on by the shop and take a look for your self.
